Growing up in Chicago, Nick Paciorek spent countless hours at a museum in downtown Chicago, influenced by the Impressionists, namely Matisse.
Paciorek attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and graduated from Maryland Institute’s College of Art in 1985.
His exhibitions have included both group and solo shows at the Foxhall Gallery in Washington, D.C. and galleries throughout the U.S. including Chicago, Providence, and Philadelphia.
As an artist today, Paciorek aligns himself with a new generation of Fauvists. He uses broad strokes of brilliant color for emotional impact. His subject is large cities and busy streets bustling with activity. Paciorek likes the way the light interplays against the buildings impacting the relationship of one building to another.
